42nd Street & Cambie Project Approved by Vancouver Urban Design Panel

On February 19, the application and design change of the 42nd Block&Cambie project of Vivagrand Developments, a Canadian company owned by Xiangli Group, officially passed the review by the Urban Design Panel of Vancouver Municipal Government.

It is understood that in May 2018, the Vancouver City Council approved the Cambie Corridor Plan, which is one of the largest neighborhood density plans in Vancouver's history. In the third phase of the Cambie corridor plan, more opening space will be provided for 1,700 existing dwellings. When completed, the Cambie corridor can accommodate 50,000 more residents than before. Among them, Oakridge Centre is a major transformation in the plan. After completion, Oakridge will become the most suitable area for living in Vancouver and become a new landmark.

The 42nd Street & Cambie project is located directly opposite the currently well-developed Oakridge Shopping Center. Skytrains run through major urban sections such as Richmond, Vancouver International Airport, and downtown Vancouver. Hundreds of bus routes connect the project Greater Vancouver area. The project contains two buildings, including a 32 floor apartment house and a 12 floor office podium.

Among them, the 12 floor office podium has more than 106,000 square feet of office space, with floor space of 11,500 square feet, as well as a 5,700-feet childcare center and a 6,000-feet youth community center. The podium and office buildings use high-performance Polly and metal window systems, alternately placing glass and bronze-colored metal in a horizontal direction.

On February 5th, the 42th Street & Cambie project teams and government personnel held the project demonstration to the public, which received public positive approval.
